Many of the modern highways are beautifully landscaped and meticulously cleaned by hand. We saw people wiping the railings with rags and sweeping up any trash with bamboo brooms and dustpans as the traffic whizzed by them. Here the many light standards are designed to resemble the flower stalks of agaves.
